IMDEA Energy Institute is opening an Assistant Researcher position for the Biotechnological Processes Unit, looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on “biogas upgrading via microalgae culture using anaerobic digestate as a source of nutrients”.

Tasks Description:

• Design and perform experiments to produce biomethane via biogas upgrading under well-controlled conditions at laboratory and pilot scale via microalgae cultivation.
• Bioprocess optimization.
• Hands on analytical and biological measurements.
• Dissemination and publication of research results in scientific journals.

Compulsory Requirements:

• B.Sc./Degree in Chemical engineering, Environmental engineering, Biology, Biotechnology, or equivalent.
• Experience on biological processes.

Other merits to value:

• Official M.Sc. in Chemical engineering, Environmental engineering, Biology, Biotechnology, or equivalent.
• Experience on microalgae culture and waste water treatment.
• Knowledge on air pollution treatment using photosynthetic biomass and microalgae culture in waste streams.
• Oral and written communication skills in English.

• Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
• Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
• Knowledge of English.
• Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.

• Remuneration:  Between 17.500€ – 19.500€ gross salary per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.

• Duration of the contract: 1 year, possibility of renewal depending on performance.
