IMDEA Energy is opening a Postdoctoral researcher position for the Electrical Systems Unit looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on Integration of Renewable Sources to Future Power Networks.

The requirements are as follows:

Tasks Description:

• R&D in integration of renewable sources and storage systems to power networks and microgrids.
• R&D in transient and small-signal stability of power systems and microgrids.
• Participation in national and international research projects in SmartGrids related topics.
• Development and validation of control and management algorithms in a laboratory environment.
• Communicate and disseminate research results through high-quality scientific channels including high impact scientific publications, presentations in conferences, etc.
• Supervision of doctoral researchers.

Compulsory Requirements:

• Ph.D. degree in Electrical, Electronic or Control Systems Engineering.
• Solid background in Power Engineering, Power Electronics, Control Systems, Electrical Machines.
• Proven track record in publishing research results.
• Experienced in national and international projects.

Other merits to value:

• Good understanding of Renewable and Energy Storage Technologies, Signal Processing, Machine Learning and Real-Time Control Systems.
• Good knowledge of DIgSILENT PowerFactory, Matlab, SimPowerSystems and other energy systems modelling tools.
• Accredited oral and written communication skills in English.

• Adequacy of the candidate's training and experience to the requested profile.
• Work experience related to the profile of the job position..
• Knowledge of English.
• Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.

• Remuneration: Between 39.000€ – 42.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.

• Contract: 3 years, possibility of annual renewals depending on performance
