Senior Researcher Position to work on "Development of new organic-inorganic hybrid materials for energy application"
IMDEA Energy Institute is a María de Maeztu Center of Excellence whose objective is to develop R&D activities in the fields of renewable energies and clean energy technologies by establishing strong links with leading companies in the energy sector. (www.energy.imdea.org).
IMDEA Energy is opening a Senior Researcher Position for the Photoactivated Processes Unit looking for a talented and motivated candidate capable of driving his/her own research project independently and leading the research team.
Research topic: design, synthesis, advanced characterization and performance of new organic-inorganic hybrid materials used in the energy field in special used to act as photocatalysts.
Tasks Description:.
- Coordination and management of granted projects.
- Prepare and/or coordinate project proposals for public and private funding organizations, including European Projects.
- Supervision and training of predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers.
- Publication of scientific results in high impact journals and communication and dissemination of the results.
- Collaborate in defining the strategic research lines of the Unit.
- Collaborate in the supervision of the staff and financial management of the Unit.
- Participate in the development of the annual work plan of the Unit.
Compulsory Requirements
- PhD degree in Organic Chemistry, with strong background in polymer science.
- At least 12 years of post-doctoral experience and at least 6 of them in the research topic.
- Principal researcher in at least 2 competitive research projects funded by public bodies directly related with the research topic.
- Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.

- Strong background on design and synthesis of photoactive monomers and conjugated semiconductor polymers.
- Accredited experience in the development of new light driven materials (i.e. Quantum Dots, inorganic semiconductors, Polymers, MOFs, COFs…).
- Proved Knowledge on photocatalysis.
- Outstanding track of indexed scientific publications, mostly those related with the research topic.

- International research experience: research stays and collaborations, mostly those related with the research topic.
- Experience in the preparation of proposals with public and private funding, mostly those related with the research topic.

- Invited lectured and oral communication in scientific events.
- Granted patent, mostly those related with the research topic.
- Organization of training and science dissemination activities.
- Networking: collaboration with international research groups and participation in networks, platforms and associations.
- Others: awards, grants/fellowships, commissions of trust.
