IMDEA Energy is opening a position for a Senior Assistant Researcher for the Systems Analysis Unit, looking for a talented and motivated candidate capable of driving his/her own research project independently and leading the research team.

Research topic: Technoeconomic assessment of energy, energy-related and circular economy systems.

Tasks Description:.

• Coordination and management of granted projects.
• Prepare and/or coordinate project proposals for public and private funding organizations, including European Projects.
• Supervision and training of predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers.
• Publication of scientific results in high impact journals and communication and dissemination of the results.

Compulsory Requirements

• PhD degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least ten years of post-doctoral experience and at least two of them in a foreign institution (both in the research topic)
• Principal Investigator of at least 2 international and/or national projects or 5 industrial projects/contracts with companies directly related with the research topic. 
• Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.

Merits to value:

• Accredited experience in the use and application of process economics, life cycle assessment and process simulation tools to energy-related projects.
• Accredited experience in current trends in the utilization of CO2 from capture process and waste-to-energy technologies.
• Accredited experience in the field of technoeconomic assessment of energy, energy-related, and circular economy, with a specific regard to waste-to-energy technologies.
• Accredited experience in modelling, simulation and scalability analysis of low-medium TRL technologies related to the research topic.
• Outstanding track of indexed scientific publications, mostly those related with the research topic.
• Proven participation in European research and innovation projects, mostly those related with the research topic.
• International research experience: research stays and collaborations, mostly those related with the research topic.
• Experience in the preparation of proposals with public and private funding, mostly those related with the research topic.
• Experience in supervision of Internships, Master Thesis and PhD Thesis, mostly those related with the research topic.
