Laboratory Technician position to work on biotechnology and thermochemistry processes

IMDEA Energy is opening a Laboratory Technician Position to work in the Thermochemical and Biotechnological Processes Units, looking for talented and motivated candidates to give support in the research line of sustainable fuel production through the integration of thermochemical, catalytic, and biotechnological processes. The technician will be involved in the analysis and conditioning of raw materials and reaction products.
This position is open in the frame of the UPGRES project (“Production of sustainable fuels by UPGrading of both digestate and stillage RESidues through the integration of thermochemical, catalytic and biotechnological processes”).
Tasks Description:
The main functions of the post will be:
- Analyses, characterization, and conditioning of raw materials (stillage from advanced bioethanol production and digestate from anaerobic digestion, microalgae, etc.).
- Chemical analyses by chromatographic techniques (GC, HPLC and GC-MS) of reaction products, including sample preparation, calibration, and analyzer maintenance.
- Management of laboratory wastes, reagents, and consumables.
Compulsory Requirements:
- To be in possession of a Higher-Level Training Cycle Degree (Vocational Training of the Educational System) in Chemistry, Laboratory Analysis and Quality Control, or similar.
- Previous experience in the chromatographic analysis.

- Remuneration: Between 16.000€ – 20.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.
