IMDEA Energy Institute is opening an Assistant Researcher position for the Advanced Porous Materials Unit (IMDEA), looking for talented and motivated candidates to work mainly on the preparation of new agrochemical-loaded MOFs and their testing in the control release of the active ingredients to the relevant environments (e.g., plants).

Tasks Description:

• Synthesis of metal organic frameworks (MOFs) based on active ingredients.
• Association of MOFs to different active (organic or inorganic) species.
• Full characterization of the obtained materials using a large panel of techniques.
• Critical analysis of the results and writing of reports.
• Dissemination and publication of research results in scientific journals.

Compulsory Requirements:

• B.Sc./Degree in Chemistry, Experimental Sciences, Material Science, Biotechnology or equivalent.

Other merits to value:

• Official M.Sc. in the fields indicated above.
• Experience and background in material synthesis (inorganic and coordination chemistry) and characterization (PXRD, fluid sorption, spectroscopies, microscopies, TGA, etc.).
• Appreciated knowledge in chromatographic techniques (e.g. HPLC).
• Appreciated knowledge in in vitro (bacteria, cells), and in vivo (plants, animals) studies.
• Oral and written communication skills in English.

• Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
• Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
• Knowledge of English.
• Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.

• Remuneration:  Between 17.500€ – 19.500€ gross salary per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
