Assistant researcher position to work on “Synthesis of dendritic zeolites"

Description

In particular, the TODENZE project (OPENING THE PATHWAY TOWARDS DENDRITIC ZEOLITES), a European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Grant H2020-EU.1.1. - EXCELLENT SCIENCE (Grant agreement ID: 101021502), is addressed to the development of a new type of zeolites, having dendritic properties, which may impact very positively on their applications in a variety of sectors, such as their use as catalysts for biomass valorisation, and as nanocarriers for combined drug and gene therapies.

In the framework of the TODENZE project, IMDEA Energy is opening a Research Assistant position within the Thermochemical Processes Unit, looking for talented candidates with skills and interest to perform experimental research activities, being trained and developing capabilities in the synthesis, characterization and application of zeolitic materials with advanced properties.

Tasks Description:

  • Revision of the state of the art of the fundamentals related to the project.
  • Synthesis and characterization of dendritic zeolites.
  • Support on activities related to the application of the synthesized materials as catalysts in biomass valorization processes.
  • Processing results and writing of reports.
Requirements

Compulsory Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or equivalent, finished in the last 5 years.

Other merits to value:

  • To be pursuing a master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and experimental practice on the synthesis of nanomaterials and porous solids.
  • Knowledge and experimental practice on analytical techniques typically applied in the characterization of nanomaterials and porous solids.
  • Oral and written communication skills in English.
Selection Criteria
  • Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
  • Work experience related to the job position.
  • Knowledge of English.
  • Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.
Conditions
  • Remuneration: Between 18.000 € – 20.000 € per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.

  • Duration of the contract: 1 year, possibility of renewal depending on performance.
