Predoctoral Researcher position to work on “TODENZE - Opening the pathway towards dendritic zeolites"

In particular, the TODENZE project (OPENING THE PATHWAY TOWARDS DENDRITIC ZEOLITES), a European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Grant H2020-EU.1.1. - EXCELLENT SCIENCE (Grant agreement ID: 101021502), aims the development of dendritic zeolites and their use as catalysts for biomass valorisation and as nanocarriers for combined drug and gene therapies.

IMDEA Energy is opening a Predoctoral Researcher position for the Thermochemical Processes Unit, looking for talented candidates with motivation and skills to carry out experimental research activities. If possible, the candidate should have knowledge of the main concepts around the catalytic processes, that is, synthesis and characterization of catalysts and analytical techniques, especially on those related with the project. Furthermore, the selected candidate needs to have the motivation required to pursue a PhD degree within the research field of the project.

Tasks Description:

  • Revision of the state of the art of the fundamentals related to the project.
  • Synthesis and characterization of zeolites and mesoporous materials.
  • Exploring the viability of different synthetic procedures to obtain different zeolitic frameworks.
  • Running thermochemical reactions for the valorization of wastes.
  • Processing results and writing of reports.
  • Dissemination and publication of research results in various journals, and both national and international congresses.
  • Supervising students in internships, TFG and TFM.

Compulsory Requirements:

  • Official M.Sc. in Chemistry related topics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or equivalent, finished in the last 5 years.

Selection Criteria

  • Remuneration: Between 20.900 € – 23.300 € per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.

  • Duration of the contract: 1 year, possibility of renewal depending on performance.
