Postdoctoral position to work on Solar Fuels production

Description

IMDEA Energy offers a Postdoctoral Research Staff position for the Photoactivated Processes Unit, looking for talented and motivated people to work on the production of Solar Fuels by Photocatalytic processes.

Tasks Description:

  • Design and synthesis of (photo)catalysts.
  • Characterization of catalysts using different physical-chemical techniques, including in situ and operating.
  • Reaction tests for photocatalytic conversion of CO2, hydrogen production from water and photocatalytic N fixation and other processes of interest for the production of solar fuels.
  • Design of reactors for solar operation of photothermal processes.
  • Generate research results and contribute to the development of independent and original ideas.
  • Publication of scientific results in high impact journals and communication and dissemination of the results.
  • Writing project proposals for national and international calls related to the topic.
  • Supervision of undergraduate and graduate TFG, TFM o PhD.

 
Requirements

Compulsory Requirements

  • PhD. degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience and training in synthesis (inorganic or coordination chemistry) and characterization (structural resolution by XRD of single crystal or powder, gas adsorption, spectroscopies, microscopies, TGA/DTA, etc.)

Other merits to value:

  • Knowledge of optical characterization and heterogeneous catalysis.
  • Good track record of indexed scientific publications.
  • Oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience in national and international research projects.

Conditions
  • Remuneration: Between 38.000 € – 41.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
