IMDEA Energy is opening a Senior Assistant Researcher Position for Electric Systems Unit,  looking for a talented and motivated candidate, to work on Control Algorithms for Power Electronics Converter Applications in Future Power Networks.

Tasks Description:.

• R&D in control algorithms for power electronics converters serving as interfaces for distributed generation and energy storage devices connected to the power networks and microgrids.
• R&D in network stability analysis in of grids dominated with renewable energy.
• Development and experimental validation of control algorithms on PHIL platform.
• Participation in national and international research projects.
• Supervision and training of predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers.
• Publication of scientific results in high impact journals and communication and dissemination of the results.

Compulsory Requirements

• PhD degree in Electrical, Electronic or Industrial Engineering, Control Systems or related disciplines.
• Expertise in Power Electronics, Control systems, Power Engineering and Power HIL systems.
• Previous experience in national and international projects.

Merits to value:

• Good understanding of Power Networks Modelling, Distributed Generation, Renewable Energy Integration, IT technologies and Real-Time Control systems.
• Previous experience in leading national and international projects.
• Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.
