IMDEA Energy is opening a Research Assistant position for the Advanced Porous Materials Unit, looking for talented and motivated candidates with background in Chemistry and/or Materials Science, to work on the preparation of catalytic systems based on Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) for CO2 conversion in the MAD VUELA SOSTENIBLE project. In particular, the MAD VUELA SOSTENIBLE, a project granted by the Regional Government of Madrid, aims to research on new technologies to produce sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) with a low carbon footprint from wastes.

The requirements are as follows:

Tasks Description:

• Synthesis of MOF-based systems using different methods (e.g. solvothermal, microwaves).
• Full characterization of the obtained materials using a large panel of techniques.
• Catalytic testing
• Critical analysis of the results and writing of reports.
• Dissemination and publication of research results in scientific journals.

Compulsory Requirements:

• BSc in Chemistry, Material Science, or equivalent (no PhD).

Other merits to value:

• MSc Degree in Chemistry, Material Science, or equivalent.
• Knowledge and experience in material synthesis (inorganic and coordination chemistry) and characterization (XRD, spectroscopies, microscopies, TGA, gas sorption, etc.).
• Oral and written communication skills in English.
• Motivation to pursue the goals of the project.

• Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
• Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
• Knowledge of English.
• Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.

• Remuneration:  Between 18.000 - 20.000 € gross salary per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
