IMDEA Energy is opening a Senior Research Assistant position for the Biotechnological Processes Unit to work on biofuels and bioproducts production with yeasts from residual streams and alternative carbon sources. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate, capable of driving his/her own research project independently while actively collaborating with other members of the lab.

Tasks Description:.

• Valorisation of waste streams for production of biofuels and biochemicals with yeast (mainly non-conventional yeasts).
• Bioreactor cultivation and process optimization.
• Yeast strains improvement via adaptive laboratory evolution and metabolic engineering.
• Supervision and training of predoctoral/postdoctoral researchers.
• Communicate and disseminate research results through high-quality scientific channels including high impact scientific publications, presentation in congresses, etc.
• Preparation of project proposals to national and international calls.
• Coordination and management of projects.

Compulsory Requirements

• PhD degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology or related areas.
• At least 3 years of post-doctoral experience to the related tasks.
