IMDEA Energy is opening a Postdoctoral Researcher position for the Systems Analysis Unit, looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on process modeling and simulation of energy-related systems.

Tasks Description:

• Modeling of energy systems based on their chemistry, thermodynamics and/or kinetics.
• Design and simulation of processes/systems based on the developed models.
• Techno-economic assessment of energy and energy related processes/systems
• Dissemination and publication of research results in international scientific journals and conferences.

Compulsory Requirements

• PhD in Chemical, Environmental or Energy Engineering, or a related area.

• Deep knowledge process modeling and simulation, as well as in specific software.

Other merits to value:

• Specific knowledge in process and plant simulation for industrial chemical and energy systems and the corresponding software (AspenPlus, Hysys Ebsilon, Ecosimpro, SuperPro Designer…).
• Knowledge of techno-economic assessment of energy and industrial processes/plants/systems.
• Knowledge of energy systems.
• Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Good track of indexed scientific publications.
• Participation in networks, research projects and contracts in the field of simulation of energy systems.

• Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
• Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
• Knowledge of English.
• Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.

Remuneration: Between 38.000€ – 41.000€ Gross Salary per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.

Duration of the contract: 1 year, possibility of annual renewals depending on performance
