Postdoctoral researcher position to work on Dendritic zeolites as drug/gene nanocarriers

Within the frame of the ERC-ADG TODENZE project, dealing with the development of dendritic zeolites to boost catalytic and biomedical applications, IMDEA Energy Institute is opening a postdoctoral researcher position to work jointly with the Thermochemical Processes Unit and Advanced Porous Materials Unit, looking for talented and motivated candidates with strong background in Pharmacy, Biology and/or Nanomedicine, for the evaluation of novel dendritic zeolites as drug/gene nanocarriers for cancer therapy.

The requirements are as follows:

Tasks Description:

  • Monitoring of the state of the art of the fundamentals and technological advances related to the project.
  • Association of active ingredients (e.g. drugs, nucleic acids).
  • In vitro testing of nanocarriers (e.g. MTT, uptake, cDNA, primer design).
  • Full characterization of nanocarriers using a large panel of techniques.
  • Discussion and critical analysis of the experimental results.
  • Dissemination and publication of research results in scientific journals.
  • Supervision of undergraduate and graduate staff working in the R&D unit.
  • Participation in the reporting activities of the results.
Requirements

Compulsory Requirements

  • PhD degree in Pharmacy, Biology, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience on cell culture studies and gene therapy (e.g. transfection, RT-PCR, primers design)

Other merits to value:

  • Appreciated knowledge in the use of chromatographic techniques (e.g. HPLC), materials characterization (XRD, DLS, NTA, IR, ATG, etc) and nanomedicine.
  • Motivation to pursue the goals of the project.
  • Experienced in national and/or international research projects and collaborations.
  • Publications in indexed relevant journals.
  • Oral and written communication skills in English.

  • Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
  • Knowledge of English.

Conditions

  • Remuneration: Between 38.000 € – 41.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

    *The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.

    Duration of the contract:  Until August 2026
