Description

IMDEA Energy offers a Laboratory Technician position for the High Temperature Processes Unit, looking for talented and motivated candidates to be involved in the synthesis and characterization of materials for/from high-temperature processes.

 

This position is offered within the framework of the call for applications for the recruitment of research assistants and laboratory technicians for the year 2024, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (FSE+), through the Programme of the Community of Madrid, 2021-2027. Ref: PEJ-2024-TL/ECO-33061.

Tasks Description:

  • Additive manufacturing of ceramic materials. Synthesis and physicochemical characterization of inks for additive manufacturing, implementation of the structures designed by researchers in the 3D printers, manufacturing of ceramic components including thermal treatment until obtaining the final material.
  • Synthesis and physicochemical, spectroscopic and characterization microstructural analysis of materials for chemical applications.
  • Monitoring and control of tests for material and effluent characterisation at laboratory scale and pilot plants. Periodic calibration of gas and liquid analysis devices (e.g. chromatographs), preparation of specific analyses, carrying out tests, collecting samples and producing reports. Analysis of solid/liquid/gaseous smaples obtained from solar-based thermochemical processes, brine treatment and materials processing (waste valorisation, metallurgy).
Requirements

Compulsory Requirements:

  • Under 30 years of age at the date of recruitment.
  • Unemployed untl the day before of the recruitment.
  • Not being employed by the hiring institution at the date of the publication of the call.
  • To be in possession of a Higher-Level Training Cycle Degree (Vocational Training of the Educational System) in Industrial chemistry, analytical techniques and quality control.

Merits to value:

  • Accredited knowledge in solid and liquid material synthesis and characterization (rheology, XRD, spectroscopies, microscopies, TGA, etc.).
  • Experience in additive manufacturing.
  • Good organizational and communicative competences.
  • Oral and written communication skills in English.
