IMDEA Energy is opening a postdoctoral researcher position for the High-Temperature Processes Unit looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on novel 3D structured chemically active redox materials by means of additive manufacturing.

The requirements are as follows:

Tasks Description:

• R&D on additive manufacturing of hierarchically channeled structures of ceramic materials by direct ink writing (DIW).
• Rheological characterization of inks and material characterization by means of structural, textural, microscopy analysis (DRX, SEM, TEM…), chemical and thermal analysis (TGA/DSC, LaserFlash), and thermomechanical analysis.
• Dissemination and publication of research results in scientific journals.
• Supervision of undergraduate and graduate staff working in the R&D unit.
• Participation in project proposals preparation and management national and international research projects.

Compulsory Requirements:

• Ph.D. degree in materials, energy, mechanical, chemical engineering or similar.
• Demonstrated experience and solid background on additive manufacturing techniques.
• Demonstrated experience and solid background on conventional materials and rheological characterization.

• Accredited experience on robocasting for ceramic materials.
• Accredited experience on materials for thermal and/or solar thermal applications.
• Accredited experience in national and international projects.
• Accredited oral and written communication skills in English.

• Adequacy of the candidate's training and experience to the requested profile.

• Remuneration: Between 39.000€ – 42.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
