IMDEA Energy is opening a Postdoctoral Researcher Position for the Advanced Porous Materials Unit looking for talented and motivated candidates with background in Chemistry and/or Materials Science, to work on the synthesis of novel Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) and their composites for CO2 valorization.
In particular, the National project entitled “New Advanced coordination polymers for CO2 valorization (NAPOLION)” aims to develop new robust environmentally friendly multifunctional materials as efficient combined adsorbents/catalysts for the CO2 adsorption, transformation, and posterior utilization.
The requirements are as follows:
Tasks Description:
- Monitoring of the state of the art of the fundamentals and technological advances related to the project.
- Design, synthesis and full characterization of new adsorbents/catalysts based on MOFs and their related composites.
- Catalytic testing
- Discussion and critical analysis of the experimental results.
- Communicate and disseminate research results through high-quality scientific channels including high impact scientific publications, presentations in conferences, etc.
- Supervision of undergraduate and graduate staff working in the R&D unit.
- Participation in proposals preparation and management national and international research projects
Compulsory Requirements:
- PhD degree in Chemistry, Material Sciences, or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of demonstrated experience and solid background on synthesis (and characterization (XRD, fluid sorption, spectroscopies, microscopies, TGA, etc.) of metal organic frameworks.
Other merits to value:
- Appreciated knowledge on the preparation of composites based on MOFs and inorganic species.
- Appreciated knowledge on heterogeneous catalysis and related techniques (GC, HPLC, etc.).
- Experience on mentoring.
- Experienced in national and/or international research projects and collaborations.
- Publications in indexed relevant journals.
- Oral and written communication skills in English.
- Motivation to pursue the goals of the project, creativity and ability to work independently.
- Adequacy of the candidate's training and experience to the requested profile.
- Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
- Knowledge of English.
- Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.
- Remuneration: Between 39.000€ – 42.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.
*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
