IMDEA Energy Institute is a María de Maeztu Center of Excellence whose objective is to develop R&D activities in the fields of renewable energies and clean energy technologies by establishing strong links with leading companies in the energy sector. (www.energy.imdea.org).

Description

IMDEA Energía is seeking to hire a responsible and experienced professional for the newly created area of Technology Development and Innovation, to lead strategic innovation projects in the fields of energy technologies, decarbonization, and the production of sustainable fuels for transport. The ideal candidate should have an entrepreneurial and creative profile, with solid technical training and professional experience, as well as a deep understanding of emerging trends in the technological field and within companies in the sector.

Principales tareas a desarrollar:

  • Create and lead the team that will constitute the Institute’s Technology Development and Innovation area.
  • Lead, coordinate and technically manage technology development and innovation projects, in collaboration with industry, focused on energy technologies and sustainability.
  • Develop technical initiatives for innovation, scaling, and feasibility studies for the potential exploitation of new technologies and trends in decarbonization, the circular economy, and sustainable fuel production.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions for the energy sector
  • Develop and implement innovation strategies that align with companies’ sustainability and energy objectives.
  • Establish contacts and collaborations with the industrial sector, both in Spain and internationally.
  • Lead the Institute’s technology transfer and entrepreneurship activities, which include: evaluation, dissemination, and exploitation of results; management of industrial property; negotiation of licensing agreements and fundraising activities, among others.
  • Organize and participate in events to promote the collaboration with industry and technology transfer.
  • Participate in national and international networks, associations, and platforms of industrial interest.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technological trends and developments in the energy industry.
  • Prepare reports and internal and external indicators.
Requirements

Compulsory Requirements

  • University degree in science or engineering.
  • At least 8 years of proven professional experience in technology development and innovation activities.
  • At least 4 years of experience in leading work teams.
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Interested candidates must submit a proposed organizational and activity plan for the Foundation’s Technology Development and Innovation area. The document must not exceed 3 pages in length. (Please, include this document in the brief research proposal section)

Others to value:

  • Experience in managing and leading technology development and innovation projects in the energy sector.
  • Experience in developing renewable and sustainable energy projects.
  • Experience in developing international projects.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, and Blockchain.
  • PhD in Science or Engineering.
  • Ability to work in dynamic and fast-changing environments.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Conditions

We offer:

  • Remuneration: Gross annual salary from 60.000 to 82.000 €, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualification.
  • Contract: Full-time indefinite contract.

IMDEA Energía: Móstoles, Madrid.
