IMDEA Energy is opening a postdoctoral researcher position for the High-Temperature Processes Unit and Electrical Systems Unit looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on Dispatch Optimization Tools for Enhanced Performance in Concentrated Solar Thermal Power Plants.

The requirements are as follows:

Tasks Description:

• R&D in energy system modelling, grid integration, and generation and demand forecasting.
• Development of optimization-based Energy Management Systems
• Development of models for dynamic simulation of solar thermal power plant operation
• Communicate and disseminate research results through high-quality scientific channels including high impact scientific publications, presentation in international conferences, etc.
• Supervision of doctoral researchers.
• Participation in national and international research projects.

Compulsory Requirements:

• Ph.D. degree in Electrical, Electronic or Control Systems Engineering, Energy Engineering or similar.
• Solid background in optimisation and renewable and demand forecasting methods.
• Proven track record in publishing research results.
• Experienced in national and international projects.
• PhD degree completed in the last 5 years.

Other merits to value:

• Good understanding concentrating solar technologies, electricity energy and service markets
• Good knowledge of Matlab and other energy systems modelling tools.
• Accredited oral and written communication skills in English.

• Adequacy of the candidate's training and experience to the requested profile.
• Experience in national and international research projects.
• Knowledge of English.
• Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.

• Remuneration: Between 39.000€ – 42.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
