Postdoctoral Researcher position to work on solar-assisted green hydrogen at high temperature

IMDEA Energy is opening a postdoctoral researcher position for the High-Temperature Processes Unit looking for talented and motivated candidates to work in the High-Temperature Processes Unit to work on solar-assisted green hydrogen at high temperature.
Contract funded by “Comunidad de Madrid” in the framework of the ACES4NET0-CM project (TEC-2024/ECO-116), through the R&D activities programme “Tecnologías 2024”.
The requirements are as follows:
Tasks Description:
- Assessment of hydrogen production processes by means of nominal and dynamic modelling of energy systems involving high-temperature steam electrolysers, and solar thermal and PV technologies.
- Analyse demand scenarios and control strategies for green hydrogen production systems.
- Participation in experimental activities to validate dynamic component models (solar thermal systems, thermal storage, electrolysers...).
- Communicate and disseminate research results through high-quality scientific channels including high impact scientific publications, presentation in international conferences, etc.
- Supervision of doctoral researchers.
Compulsory Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in Electrical, Electronic or Control Systems Engineering, Energy Engineering or similar.
- Proven track record in publishing research results.
- Experienced in national and international projects.
- Demonstrated background in chemical processes for hydrogen synthesis.
- PhD degree completed in the last 3 years.
Other merits to value:
- Accredited knowledge on electrolysis technologies and/or solar thermal technologies.
- Accredited experience and solid background on numerical simulation and/or experimentation of energy systems for hydrogen production.
- Accredited oral and written communication skills in English.
- Adequacy of the candidate's training and experience to the requested profile.
- Experience in national and international research projects.
- Knowledge of English.
- Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.
- Remuneration: Between 39.000€ – 42.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.
*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
