IMDEA Energy is opening a Predoctoral Researcher Position for the Systems Analysis Unit to work on consequential life cycle sustainability assessment of hydrogen-based systems.

The new researcher will join the research team of the project ProsConsHy, aimed at assessing the sustainability performance of hydrogen at the national level from a prospective consequential perspective. The new researcher will contribute to:

Tasks Description:

• Identification and life cycle sustainability characterisation of both hydrogen-based and competing technologies.
• Integration of hydrogen-based technologies into macroeconomic and power system models.
• Socioeconomic impact assessment and consequential life cycle sustainability assessment of hydrogen deployment at the national level.
• Scenario analysis and hydrogen roadmapping at the national level.
• Dissemination and publication of research results in international scientific journals and conferences.

Compulsory Requirements:

• BSc and MSc in the field of Chemical, Environmental, Industrial Organisation or Energy Engineering, or a related area.
• Knowledge of life cycle assessment and specific software.
• Knowledge of economic assessment.

Other merits to value:

• Scientific publications on life cycle assessment and/or economic assessment of product systems.
• Knowledge of fuel cells and hydrogen systems.
• Language proficiency (English).

• Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.

• Remuneration: Between 21.500€ – 24.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.
