Predoctoral Researcher Position to work on integrated electrochemical hydrogen production and wastewater decontamination

IMDEA Energy is opening a Predoctoral Researcher Positionfor the Electrochemical Processes Unit, looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on “Simulation and Modeling of Electrochemical Technologies for Energy Storage and Water Treatment”.
This project is funded with public funds by the Community of Madrid through the programme "Grants for the attraction of research talent to the Community of Madrid in R&D centres 2020" (Ref.2020-T1/AMB-19799).
The requirements are as follows:
Tasks Description:
- Data collection and selection of physics to be applied in the model.
- Evaluation of different modeling methodologies (multivariable regression, physical models, machine learning, etc.).
- Development and implementation of the predictive model.
- Programming the model in a suitable environment (COMSOL, Python, etc.). Parameter tuning, model calibration, and simulation generation.
- Validation and application of the model under operating scenarios. Comparison of model predictions with new experimental data.
- Communicate and disseminate research results through high-quality scientific channels including high impact scientific publications, presentations in conferences, etc.
- Supervision of Master or undergraduate students.
Compulsory Requirements:
- Being in possession of an official master’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering, or an equivalent qualification, in the last three years.
- Being I possession of a Bachelor degree, or equivalent qualification, in Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar.
Other merits to value:
- Specific training in mathematical modelling.
- Specific training or experience with electrochemical energy storage and/or electrochemical water treatment devices.
- Experience with COMSOL and python.
- Experience in writing scientific publications.
- Oral and written communication skills in English.
- Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
- Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
- Knowledge of English.
- Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.
- Remuneration: Between 21.500€ – 24.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.
*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
