Description

IMDEA Energy is opening a Laboratory Technician Position for the Electrochemical Processes Unit, looking for talented candidates to work on “Electrochemistry applied to energy storage and conversion devices”. The selected candidate will take part in operating equipment and processes, managing laboratory stock, and ensuring quality compliance, following safety procedures and applicable regulations.

The person to be hired will participate in the following tasks:

Tasks Description:

  • Synthesis of active materials for electrochemical cells.
  • Formulation, fabrication and assembly of electrochemical cells and reactors.
  • Setting up and performance of experiments with cells and reactors, including data acquisition and sample collection for chemical analysis.
  • General maintenance of chemical laboratories.
  • Utilization, maintenance and calibration of test and measurement equipment.
  • Good practices in the laboratory, such as safety and health procedures, use of laboratory notebooks, reagents and consumables stock control, and waste management.
Requirements

Compulsory Requirements:

  • Being in possession of a Higher-Level Training Cycle Degree (Vocational Training of the Educational System) in Laboratory of Analysis and Quality Control, Industrial Automation and Robotics, Renewable Energy, Chemistry and Environmental Health, Industrial Chemistry, or similar.
  • Basic knowledge of instrumentation, equipment operation, and process control.

Other merits to value:

  • Professional experience in research chemical laboratories.
  • Hands-on experience in the use of electrochemical characterization techniques applied to half cells and full cells.
  • Hands-on experience in the use of electrical characterization techniques applied to energy storage and conversion devices.
  • Experience in laboratory management activities, such as purchases, stocks and waste management.
  • Oral and written communication skills in English.

  • Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
  • Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
  • Knowledge of English.
  • Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.
Conditions
  • Remuneration: Between 17.000€ – 21.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.

  • Contract: Until the end of the project - January 2027.
