IMDEA Energy is opening a Predoctoral Researcher Position for the Systems Analysis Unit, looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on life cycle sustainability assessment of advanced biofuels and bioproducts.

The new researcher will join the research team of the project BIOVAL, aimed at assessing the sustainability performance of microalgae-biorefinery based systems from a life cycle perspective. The new researcher will contribute to:

Tasks Description:

• Techno-economic assessment of advanced biofuels and bioproducts obtained in microalgae-based biorefineries.
• Life cycle sustainability assessment of advanced biofuels and bioproducts obtained in microalgae-based biorefineries.
• Circularity and material criticality of the involved technologies.
• Dissemination and publication of research results in various journals, and both national and international congresses.
• Supervising students in internships, TFG and TFM.

Compulsory Requirements:

• BSc and MSc in the field of Chemical, Environmental or Energy Engineering, or a related area.
• Knowledge of life cycle assessment and specific software.
• Knowledge of techno-economic assessment.

• Scientific publications on life cycle assessment and/or techno-economic assessment.
• Knowledge of bioenergy systems.
• Oral and written communication skills in English.

• Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.

• Remuneration: Between 21.000€ – 24.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.
