Senior Research Assistant Position at IMDEA Energía to work on Control and Stability Aspects of Future Power Systems with High Share of Inverter Based Resources

IMDEA Energy is opening a Senior Research Assistant position for the Electrical Systems Unit looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on Control and Stability Aspects of Future Power Systems with High Share of Inverter Based Resources.
The requirements are as follows:
Tasks Description:
- R&D in stability of power systems with high share of power converter interfaced renewable sources and storage systems.
- R&D in transient, voltage and small-signal stability of power systems.
- Coordination of development of control algorithms and their experimental validation in the laboratory environment.
- Dissemination and publication of research results in scientific journals.
- Supervision of undergraduate and graduate staff working in the R&D unit.
- Participation in project proposals preparation and management national and international research projects.
Compulsory Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in Electrical, Electronic or Control Systems Engineering.
- Solid background in Power Engineering, Power Electronics, Control Systems, Electrical Machines.
- Proven track record in publishing research results.
- Experienced in national and international projects.
Other merits to value:
- Good understanding Renewable and Energy Storage Technologies, Signal Processing and Real-Time Control Systems.
- Good knowledge of DIgSILENT PowerFactory, Matlab, SimPowerSystems and other energy systems modelling tools.
- Experience in HIL (Hardware In the Loop) and PHIL (Power Hardware In the Loop) test systems.
- Accredited oral and written communication skills in English.
- Adequacy of the candidate's training and experience to the requested profile.
- Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
- Quality and impact of scientific publications.
- Knowledge of English.
- Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.
- Remuneration: Between 44.000€ – 50.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.
*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
