Senior assistant researcher position to work on advanced redox flow batteries and other electrochemical energy devices for energy storage

IMDEA Energy is opening a Senior Assistant Researcher Position to join the Electrochemical Processes Unit. The successful candidate will contribute to both fundamental and applied research in advanced redox flow batteries, hybrid supercapacitors, and other innovative electrochemical energy storage.
Will be responsible for the following activities:
Tasks Description:.
- Lead the research lines focused on hybrid supercapacitors and membrane-free redox flow batteries, as well as be responsible of the associated laboratory facilities.
- Supervise postdoctoral researchers, PhD candidates, MSc and BSc students, and technical staff associated with the research lines.
- Coordinate the preparation of scientific publications, intellectual property protection activities, and patent applications related to the research lines.
- Prepare and/or coordinate research proposals for national and international funding agencies, including European-funded projects.
- Promote collaborations with academic institutions, research centers, and industrial partners to strengthen the research activities of the unit.
Compulsory Requirements
- PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of postdoctoral research experience in electrochemical energy storage technologies.
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced redox flow battery systems and hybrid supercapacitors.
- Strong publication record in high-impact scientific journals and/or relevant patent portfolio in related fields.
- Experience supervising PhD, Master's, or Bachelor's theses.
Merits to value:
- Experience in the formulation and characterization of aqueous biphasic systems and their application in redox flow batteries.
- Experience in the assembly, characterization, and testing of hybrid supercapacitors.
- Experience with advanced electrolytes, including ionic liquids, and their application in electrochemical energy storage technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to disseminate research results through invited lectures, specialized training courses, and presentations at international conferences.
- Participation in R&D projects conducted in collaboration with industrial partners.
- Participation in research projects funded by the European Commission.
- Experience in the preparation and submission of proposals for public and private funding schemes.
- Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary research teams and collaborative projects
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Adequacy of the candidate's PhD experience to the requested profile.
- Work experience related to the profile of the job position

Remuneration: Between 44.000€ - 50.000€ Gross Salary per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.
*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
