Research Assistant Position to work on Valorization of Biopulp Obtained after the Thermohydrolysis of Municipal Solid Waste for Bioethanol Production

IMDEA Energy is opening a Research Assistant position in the Biotechnological Processes Unit, seeking motivated candidates to work on bioethanol production from pretreated municipal solid waste.
The requirements are as follows:
Tasks Description:
- Macromolecular characterization of the substrate.
- Optimization of the enzymatic hydrolysis step.
- Production of bioethanol from hydrolyzed streams.
- Assessment of simultaneous enzymatic hydrolysis and fermentation.
- Process scale-up to 50 L bioreactors.
Compulsory Requirements:
- Degree in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Biology or related areas.
Other merits to value:
- Previous experience with yeast fermentation
- Previous experience in a biotechnology lab (analytics, microorganisms cultivation, waste valorization, etc)
- Oral and written communication skills in English.
- Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
- Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
- Knowledge of English.
- Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.
- Remuneration: Between 19.000€ – 21.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.
*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
