IMDEA Energy is opening a Predoctoral Position for the Electrochemical Processes Unit, looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on “Integrated Electrochemical Hydrogen Production and Water Decontamination.

Tasks Description:

• Research on innovative materials for Hydrogen production and pollutant removal.
• Synthesis, formulation, and electrochemical characterization of electrode materials.
• Use of advanced characterization and analytical techniques such as SEM, XRD, XPS, N2 Adsorption Isotherms, Raman, FTIR, Gas Chromatography, Ion Chromatography, etc.
• Manufacturing components for electrochemical cells.
• Assembly and testing of electrochemical cells.
• Communicate and disseminate research results through high-quality scientific channels including high impact scientific publications, presentations in conferences, etc.
• Supervision of Master or undergraduate students.

Compulsory Requirements:

• Being in possession of an official Master degree in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.

Other Merits to value:

• Specific training or proven skills in removal of ions from contaminated liquid effluents.
• Specific training or hands-on experience with electrochemical energy storage and / or conversion devices.
• Hands-on experience with Infrared spectroscopy, X-ray Diffraction, or Raman spectroscopy techniques
• Experience in writing scientific publications.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills in English.

• Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
• Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
• Knowledge of English.
• Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.

• Remuneration: Between 22.000€ – 25.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

           *The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
