IMDEA Energy is opening a Research Assistant position for the Advanced Porous Materials Unit (APMU), looking for talented and motivated candidates with strong background in Coordination Chemistry, for mainly the preparation of Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) for CO2 valorization preparation, the frame of a National Project “Generación de Conocimiento” dealing with the development of new Metal-Organic Framework (MOF) platforms for combined advanced cancer therapies.

The requirements are as follows:

Tasks Description:

• Desing and synthesis of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs)
• Full characterization of the obtained materials using a large panel of techniques.
• Catalytic testing
• Critical analysis of the results and writing of reports.
• Dissemination and publication of research results in scientific journals.

Compulsory Requirements:

• BSc degree in Chemistry (PhD holders are not eligible), with a minimum average grade of 8/10, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience on coordination chemistry and MOFs

Other merits to value:

• MSc in Chemistry or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience in MOF synthesis.
• Demonstrated experience in characterization techniques: XRD, fluid sorption, TGA, elemental analysis, NMR, IR.
• Knowledge and experience in chromatographic techniques.
• Oral and written communication skills in English.
• Motivation to pursue the goals of the project.

• Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
• Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
• Knowledge of English.
• Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.

• Remuneration: Between 19.000€ – 21.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
