Predoctoral Researcher to work on Energy Management Algorithms for Grid Applications

Description

IMDEA Energy is opening a Predoctoral Researcher position for the Electrical Systems Unit, looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on Energy Management Algorithms in Grid Applications.

Tasks Description:

  • R&D in energy management algorithms for applications in microgrids and power networks.
  • Detailed demand and generation modelling.
  • Implementation and experimental validation of management algorithms in a Power HIL environment (Smart Energy Integration Lab).
  • Participation in national and international research projects in SmartGrids related subjects.
  • Dissemination and publication of research results in scientific journals.
Requirements

Compulsory Requirements:

  • Official MSc. degree in Electrical, Electronic or Industrial Engineering, Control Systems or related disciplines.
  • Solid background in Power Engineering, Optimisation Algorithms, Power Electronics, Control Systems and Communication Networks.
  • Oral and written communication skills in English.

Merits to value:

  • Good understanding of Power Networks Modelling, Renewable Energy Technologies, IT technologies and Real-Time Control systems.
  • At least 1-year experience of working with modelling systems in Matlab and Matlab Simulink and MILP tools.

  • Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
  • Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
  • Knowledge of English.
  • Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.
Conditions
  • Remuneration: Between 19.500€ – 22.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.

  • Duration of the contract: One year with annual renewals depending on performance.
