IMDEA Energy is opening a Predoctoral Research position within the Systems Analysis Unit,  looking for talented and motivated candidates to work in the line of systems modeling and environmental analysis, based on life cycle analysis, and techno-economics of clean fuel production processes.

Tasks Description:

• Literature review of the environmental and socioeconomic analysis of sustainable alternatives to traditional fuels.
• Mathematic modelling of systems for obtaining clean fuels.
• Development of material and energy balances of different process alternatives.
• Development of environmental inventories and life cycle analysis.
• Economic analysis of the different alternatives, formulation of scenarios and qualitative evaluation of the social impact.

Compulsory Requirements:

• B.Sc./Degree in the fields of environmental engineering, chemistry, energy or similar.
• Official M.Sc. in the fields indicated above.
• Knowledge of environmental impact analysis methodologies, mainly life cycle assessment.
• Knowledge of techno-economic analysis of processes.

Others to value:

• Knowledge of Coding (Matlab, Python, visual basic, or others).
• Knowledge of Process Engineering software (Aspen Plus, Ebsilon, others).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Oral and written communication skills in English.

• Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
• Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
• Knowledge of English.
• Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.

Remuneration: Between 20.000€ – 22.000€ gross salary per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.

Duration: Until May 31st, 2023. Possibility of continuity depending on job performance.
