IMDEA Energy is opening a predoctoral researcher position for the High-Temperature Processes Unit looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on innovative characterization tools and procedures for on-sun evaluation of chemical processes in the area of solar thermochemical synthesis of liquid fuels.

The requirements are as follows:

Tasks Description:

• R&D on chemical processes for solar thermochemical synthesis of liquid fuels.
• Experimental evaluation of subsystems involved in the testing facility as well as the full integrated system to identify critical variables and characterize their dynamic performance.
• Development and validation of models of components for dynamic simulation of the chemical process using experimental data.
• Critical analysis of the results and writing of reports.
• Dissemination and publication of research results in scientific journals and conferences.
• Supervision of Master and undergraduate students.

Compulsory Requirements:

• MSc. degree in chemical, mechanical, energy engineering, or similar.
• BSc. degree in chemical, mechanical, energy engineering, Chemistry, or similar.
• Demonstrated experience and solid background on experimentation in chemical processes.

Other merits to value:

• Knowledge and experimental practice on process simulation and basic process control.

• Accredited oral and written communication skills in English.

• Remuneration: Between 22.500€ – 25.100€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.
