IMDEA Energy is opening a Senior Researcher Position in the Electrical Systems Unit, looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on Power System Operation, Control and Optimization.

Tasks Description:.

• Lead one or several research lines (including projects) in power systems, smart grids, renewable integration, flexibility, and energy markets.
• Help manage the research unit including its infrastructure
• Leading project proposals preparation and management of national and international research projects.
• Collaborate with industry and international partners.
• Supervise personnel including PhD students, postdoctoral and senior assistant researchers.
• Disseminate research results through scientific publications, technical reports, participation in conferences, workshops, technology forums, and technology transfer activities to industry.

Compulsory Requirements

• Ph.D. degree in Electrical, Electronic or Control Systems Engineering.
• Solid background in Power Engineering, Control Systems and Electrical Machines
• 10 years of postdoctoral experience and at least two of them in a foreign institution
• Principal investigator in at least 2 national/ international projects.
• Proven track record in publishing research results.

• Good understanding of Renewable and Energy Storage Technologies and Planning and Operation of Power Systems.
• Good knowledge of DIgSILENT PowerFactory, Matlab, SimPowerSystems and other energy systems modelling tools.
• Beneficiary researcher of a national or international excellence program (e.g. Ramón y Cajal, Juan de la Cierva, Marie Curie Individual Fellowship, ERC grant).
• R3 / I3 Certificate.
• Outstanding track of indexed scientific publications, mostly those related to the research topic.
• Proven participation in European research and innovation projects, mostly those related to the research topic.
• International research experience: research stays and collaborations, mostly those related with the research topic.
• Experience in the preparation of proposals with public and private funding, mostly those related with the research topic.
• Experience in supervision of Internships, Master Thesis and PhD Thesis, mostly those related with the research topic.
• Fluent oral and written communication skills in English

Remuneration: Depending upon qualification and expertise.
